Wash the car so existing scratches are visible for inspection, then remove personal items, toll tags, and parking passes. Leave about a quarter tank of fuel, check the tire pressure, and note any leaks or mechanical issues. Disable alarms, and fold in mirrors or lower antennas if possible. Take dated photos from several angles so you have a clear record before pickup.
